Episode About ChatGPT For Music Marketing

Hey, what's up gigging pros. It's Jared, welcome to another episode of The Gigging Musician Podcast. All right, I want to share something that I think is going to totally change the game for many musicians, not just musicians, it's actually literally rocking the entire marketing world, it's rocking a lot of other worlds too. And that is AI, artificial intelligence. You know, it's been around for a while, but only recently has it started to develop into something that's usable for the lay person and the lay musician, like you and me. And today, I want to share with you a tool that you can use that leverages artificial intelligence, and will help you literally draft emails for you write the text of your website for you write the content of your social media hecky can even write lyrics for you if you want it to. And so this is the tool that I'm going to reveal to you. And you're probably going to want to hop on your computer right now and check it out is called ChatGPT. I don't remember what GPT stands for. But that doesn't even matter. Because this tool is incredible. It is free, run by a company called Open AI. And so if you just Google ChatGPT. And you will find a tool that is basically a chat room with an artificial intelligent robot. And what this means is that you can ask this robot, this AI to write things for you to do almost anything for you other than like, physical, real world things. But you can ask it I'll share with you earlier on a Fulltime Music Academy coaching call, I shared this with our students, and we had it write an email to a corporate event venue to partner with them. We put in a prompt. So what you have to do is you have to put in a prompt that gives it enough context that it understands who you are, what you do, and like what it should write. And then you hit Enter, and then it just spits out a draft. So we we wrote, I am a musician that loves to play corporate events. And one of the ways that I get new gigs is by partnering with venues that host corporate events, I just found a new venue. And I would like to write an email, introducing myself to this new venue and asking about a partnership. So I wrote that as the prompt, and then hit the enter key. And all of a sudden, it spit out this amazing first draft of an email that I'm actually on the road right now to a gig. So I can't remember the exact text of it. But it started out like dear venue manager name. My name is so and so and I run the gigging act blank. And we we love to play corporate events, because we feel that we help the guests like it just went into this whole amazing first draft of an email that, honestly was so good that I wouldn't really have a problem sending the first draft. And it put into words like what I'm struggling to say right now on this podcast. And it was so eloquent, everything was formatted properly, like the grammar was really good. And it was just, it had it done in 10 seconds, which Jimmy drafting that email would have taken, you know, 1020 30 minutes. And I was just blown away with it. And I think all of the members on the call were blown away by it too. We also had one of our members, she plays like Native American ambience, flute music, and she is looking to get into the wedding market with that. And she's in the process of building her website. And what we did was we asked ChatGPT to write five headline options for her website, pitching Native American armbian flute music to a wedding client that crafted these five amazing headlines that honestly I they were as good if not better than what I would be able to come up with, you know, after sitting down for 10, 20 or 30 minutes. So that was really cool. Then we also had another member, he runs a jazz trio and he's been pursuing restaurant gigs. Back in January. He had emailed this one restaurant, they were at the five yard line of a booking for one of their just a dinner might have even been a Valentine's Day gig. And they were on the five yard line but then all of a sudden the venue stopped responding they ghosted him. So the prompt that I put into Jad GPT was I'm a I run a jazz trio. We emailed a bar, a restaurant manager back in January, about booking, like booking a show at their restaurant, but they never responded, please write a gentle reminder email, reminding them who we are, and that we are still looking to book we have some availability in March. And I hit the enter key, and all of a sudden it drafted this amazing, well written email. That was perfect grammar, perfect spelling and perfect punctuation, and perfectly conveyed who this jazz trio is and reminds the person of the context of the conversation, and then asks them to reconsider booking. The cool thing about this ChatGBT was that like, it was writing things that I hadn't told it to write like, it was literally pitching good things about the band that I didn't even say the band was any good. It started to say like, we play high quality, jazz music that creates a romantic ambiance that's more memorable. Like, it just knows. And it was the way that AI works is that like, it has been trained on a data set, like people fed it literally like the internet, and they just put in all of the text of the internet, lots of books and other things. So it like, understands how language works, and understands the context of a lot of things. And then it uses that to create new emails, like, you know, that's why you're gonna want to, like, play around with it, and reward some of it. But most of it's just, it's, it's amazing. Like, I was just so blown away by it, even on that demonstration I did on the call, which was why I was so excited to share it with you, my podcast listeners, so you can start to try it. We did run into a little bit of an issue in that ChatGPT is so new that, like, there's so much demand on their servers, that they've limited it. And in fact, we weren't able to get on for about five minutes, we had to keep refreshing until we finally were able to get a spot. But, you know, honestly, it is worth the wait. So that is my suggestion for you is to try out ChatGPT. And it will save you literally hours and is a free service too. They do have a premium one that you could pay for it. And that removes the restrictions if they're not available during a certain time. But honestly, with the free version, you can probably use it to make a million dollars, you know, and that's not an income claim. I cannot guarantee you will make a million dollars using it. But you know, if you're smart, you can figure out a path that might make that happen. Alright, so I hope that that was helpful for you.
